Enjoyed our very first family camping trip this weekend. We have 2 preschool children and our choice- Holme Farm in Sedbergh, Cumbria was perfect because there was so much to see and do on site.
I'm looking for other options. We're lucky enough to live in a beautiful part of the world, right next to the moors in West Yorkshire so I want the site itself to be the reason for our visit- a stream to paddle in for example/farm/other things I haven't even thought of. We're not looking for a field with fantastic facilities just because it's a mile or so away from an attraction.
Perhaps these sort of campsites are known as something and I'm not aware of the phrase yet- if so what should I be searching for?
To begin with we would like to keep traveling to a minimum as we enjoyed our single night trip- so looking for ideas in Yorkshire/Peak District/Cumbria.
Many Thanks in advance. I hope to be a regular on here- now we've invested in a tent we're using it!!!!

hi there, dont know if this would be any use to you but we go here alot..just back from it today after a weekend break.. our first trip with our 20 month old and he loved it..running about with the other kids etc..it is in ripon which is within your boundarys..its got enough to keep any kids quiet - or noisy whilst they play..
This is just the sort of thing I was looking for. Lakes, playground, pub! The website mentions a cycle path for children opening summer '09. Did you see it, was it open?
