Anybody camped at Trewethett Farm, near Tintagel and Boscastle, and got any comments?
Its a CC site but does have a tent field. Was looking at the reviews again yesterday and, not surprisingly, there are only one or two from tenters - so was wondering if anybody had anything to add?
Cheers

my only view on this site is its a long way to any where you need to use your car and drive every where. we try to avoid this at times. its nice to walk or bus as well instead of spending hours in the car.
it does have nice views though.
we have stayed a few miles out side newquay, hayle or bodmin all a bit more central.
Thanks Nora. I don't mind some use of the car on holiday and was hoping to avoid it on a couple of days by doing the walks into Tintagel and Boscastle - were you able to try those?

We were there in our motorhome a few weeks ago and the veiws from the site are excellent but would guess when it is windy you would need to anchor the tent down well. We walked into both Tintagel and Boscastle and what a walk it is, not easy as there is lots of quite steep ups and downs but fantastic scenery and well worth the effort. We also walked inland up the stream to the waterfall. I also am sure there is a bus that runs to Tintagel and Boscastle from the site entrance.
we stayed here in a campervan a few years ago. The only comment i can add is that I thought the tent field was on quite a slope. But it is a fantastic place, stunning views and the walk to Boscastle is good.
We stayed a couple of years ago in our caravan and as people have already mentioned the tent field is on a slope especially at the top end, There is direct access from the field onto the coastal path and it can get incredibly windy, in fact when we were there people were in reception complaining about the wind [ numptys]
The views are brilliant and if the weather is good you couldn't have chosen a nicer place. The coastal walk to both Boscatle and Tintagel are worth the effort, but you are on the North Cornish coast so don't expect it to be flat!.

We stayed there last year (Gale force winds in August!!) and have booked again for this summer, so the weather didnt put us off. We stayed in our caravan and were advised to take our awning down.
The walks into Tintagel and Boscastle are absolutely fantastic, in Tintagel there is Pehallys (I think) for pasties, best in the world, and at \boscastle the Cobweb does a nice pint of Doom. A bus runs from the site entrance and is fair;y cheap.
Dropped in on this site a couple of years ago trying to retrace our steps on a trip 10 years prior for nostalgia, and was disappointed to find it had been changed to CC site.. purely because the lovely terraced area overlooking the sea was now just for caravans and motorhomes. Tents are now on the far end of the sight on a slightly sloping field. That said it was early season (May Day) and we managed to get a spot right above the cliffs.
The site is in a beautiful spot but as mentioned by someone earlier..is in the middle of nowhere (about halfway between Boscastle & Tintagel) so you need a car to get about really. The facilities are clean and in good condition but it does come with a CC price tag....eeeek!!!
