has anyone been camping at this haven site in bridlington? we are booked for 5 nights next saturday. we went to blue dolphin in a static last month and i was not too keen to say the least, but the kids loved it. they sent me this offer, and at £60 for 5 nights with all the swim passes etc, it was too good to say no. just wondering what the site itself and the camping facilities were like (doesnt go into great detail on the haven website)

Hi

IWe've never stayed at Reighton, but we live just around the corner, and we've had loads of friends stop there.  It's bigger and much much nicer than Blue Dolphin, but not as nice as Primrose Valley.  I think the tent & touring fields are on a slope but I'm not sure about the facilities.  The site is a fab location, it's quite a steep path down to the beach, but it's worth the walk.  It's the best beach in the area, it's gorgeous.

BTW, it's at Filey, not Brid 17

Stayed in a Caravan at Reighton last year but as we are keen campers checked out the camping field - it is a large area - a bit sloping in parts and set right at the end of the Site closest to the Cliffs overlooking the Beach - downside to that is it must get the worst of the wind on a bad day - however the views are spectacular. Must agree with J+J 15 it is the best beach in the area. Reighton site is nice with decent facilities but not as nice as Primrose Valley - Have never stayed at Blue Dolphin.

I stayed there 2 weeks ago, the site was ok but not as good as primrose or blue dolphin but for £16 per night including passes you cant complain (and your getting it even cheaper). The field is flat either side of the road (which runs all the way around) at the bottom then slopes up where it flattens out again at the top. Everyone was around the outsides of the field so there was ample room in the middle for the kids to play. other than that it was foggy and raining so couldnt even see the beach lol.

A large field on a slope for camping. We camped at the top when we had the tent as felt a little uneasy with the kids near the cliff. A Haven site so the kids love it, I can`t say the same about the adults and you need deep pockets.

Reighton is half way between Filey and Bridlington, like Jo said (so not in Brid) It is a small site and you can access the beach, which is nestling under Bempton/Flamborough chalk cliffs.

The best bit is the road down to the site, It's like a rollercoaster!!! Sometimes just drive down there (in the quiter months of course) to give the kids a thrill.

Hope you have a nice time

  Best wishes Sam
