Hi, we are from the Netherlands and will be visiting Sussex, Devon and Cornwall with our caravan from July 18 until August 6. We like to know if it is necessary to make reservations on campsites. We usually just see where we end up and when we like it we stay a bit longer, never more than about a week and move on depending on weather etc. We prefer the touring campsites rather than Holiday Parks with static chalets/caravans etc. Pls share your experiences without reservations in high season. THANKS!

Hi and welcome to the forum, hope you enjoy your trip to the UK.
Sussex can be popular, though you may get away without a reservation but, for Devon and Cornwall I would book. They can be extremely popular in July and August and if you've got a big outfit I wouldn't consider going unless you've booked. Just to explain, Devon and Cornwall are possibly the most popular locations in the UK for summer holidays due to the slightly better weather (haha!) and lovely beaches and coastline. Hope this helps
