When did it become so difficult to go camping, especially on the spur of the moment? My husband and I did it 20 years ago and drove up one side of the country and down the other, stopping overnight at the first site we came to and paying in the morning before departing. Currently trying to get something for a few days for me,2 friends and our 2 kids between us. We were looking for sites with fires but that is way too restrictive. Would like woodland too - hah. All either booked, too far away or just stupidly difficult to get through the websites on booking procedures. For one, I typed in my details for 3 adult females (we're all over 40) and 2 10 yr old girls to be told "We don't allow single-sex parties". Cos of course we're just a riot when let loose on a campsite!!! Grrr
2 hours of searching through this website and New Forest specfic campsites and I've pretty much had enough of looking!
