Hi all,

Hoping someone can help me.

I am organising a sponsored walk up Snowdon, Llanberis path in August and I need a campsite that is close by, ideally with a fire pit. May be a couple of dogs too.

Can anyone give me any help or advice on where would be suitable??

Thanks

Rach

Hello rachandwayne,

We like Cae Du in Beddgelert.

http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=5252

The pretty village is a short walk away which has most things you will need, though most importantly, has 3 good friendly pubs and a hotel bar.

For Snowden we prefer the gentler and quieter Rhydd Ddu path just a couple of miles or so out of the village towards Caernarfon, but you're also well placed for the Watkin Path back along Nantgwynant.

There are numerous other walks and summits that are really pleasing whatever your enthusiasm, and the walk along the Glasyn river in particular, stunning.

The Beddgelet to Caernarfon railway service has now been reopened which will take you to Rhyd Ddu and beyond.

Good luck,

Suni n Mike
