Hi
In another post I lamented the lack of town centre parking facilities for motorhomes, not even parking! Having traveled in France and seen first hand the welcome we get as motorhomers, I wondered if pubs would be able to provide a welcome.

Many town and city centre pubs have good sized car parks and could easily spare room for up to five motorhomes, limited to a maximum of two nights, perhaps three, it would bring in much needed income for the pubs, as not only a pitch rental, but with food and drink sales.

Somewhere with food and drink means no drink driving before retiring for the night, and within a short walk of all the town/city attractions.

Not only town centre pubs, but any along a main trunk road, especially those in small villages, they are the ones in greater need of the extra customers.

If, like me, you like to tour and not to a set schedule, this would be a boon, I never know for sure where I'm going to overnight, as I move on or stay longer, depending on how much I like a place and what there is to see or do in the area. Not everyone wants to sit on the same pitch for two weeks, that's fine for caravaners, but I got a motorhome to satisfy my wonderlust.

I have stayed on pub car parks for free before, many landlords are happy with the arrangement as it brings much needed custom, but having the facilities would be an added bonus, for which I'd be happy to pay.

Any thoughts on the subject are most welcome.

Hi
A while ago, earlier this year, there was a thread about a scheme which is pretty well what you describe. It was in the Motorhome section, and I've done a search and found it.
THIS is the link, there are some differences of opinion there which are interesting to read!

Thanks, I did search but almost died of boredom, there was so much to plough through.
