Hi All

Just wondering what the rules are for having a wood burning stove in a tipi tent on camp sites. i know some sites wont let you have a fire, but not sure if they are ok if you have a wood burning stove in your tent.

Interesting one that. We had neighbours with a wood burning stove in their yurt last year. That was my last trip out. On unpacking this year I found quite a few tiny holes in my nylon tent. You've got me thinking now.

Hi
You can get spark arrestors for the stove chimney. Also some wood is prone to sparking.

No sparks with a paraffin stove.

I have a woodburner in my Soulpad tent.  We tend to burn Heat Logs which we get from the garden centre - they're efficient and don't spark, so loads safer if we want the door of the stove open.  Never had a site tell us we can't use it but I do mention it when booking just in case.

Many thanks for your replies.

Yes we have a spark arrestor in our stove, so no chance of sparks coming out. Could be a good way to get people not ot pitch close to you.

As macman has said, i will ask when booking.
