Hi all, the hours of waiting to cross the River Dart to or from Dartmouth should now be a thing of the past. We've got a new Higher Ferry with double the capacity of the old one and quicker turn-round times. Gentle slopes on the prows mean that you can get your caravan on and off easily too. Regatta at the end of August will be hell again but only because Dartmouth can only hold so many people and ten times that number will be trying to get there!  Have fun!

They were testing it when we were down in June, it looked very smart so hopefully as you say the queues will lessen now.

I love the tiny Dart ferry - the one that looks like a little boat lashed to the side of the floating deck. I hope it's still going too...

I cant wait for the Regatta.

My in-laws have spare bedrooms and loads of parking, plus a balcony looking out over the firework display.

Not only is there a new super-ferry, but there's a Sainsbury as well!

Does life get any better?
