I would rather camp next to a family like yours than next to a large party of adults!! In our experience we have had MANY sleepless nights due to selfish, drunk adults who cannot control their noise levels, whereas we have only had a couple of very early morning wake-up calls by noisy children. The only really annoying experience we ever had was once when a toddler was really screaming for what seemed like hours on end whilst the parents clearly made no attempt to stop them or even quiten them down. When our children were very young we always apologised to our neighbours in advance for any noise and when they did wake up too early with too much energy we took them for a walk away from other tents. Enjoy your holiday!!

My only real concern now is the weather, it doesn't seem like letting up at all, oh well we will just make the weekend into an adventure and will enjoy anyway - I haven't rolled around in the mud for a long time ! <IMG border=0 align=absMiddle src="https://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/chatter/forum_images/smiley2.gif" alt=17>

Kids don't mind the bad weather as much as the grownups - extra play opportunities :-) good waterproofs and enough clothes to have dry ones when they get wet is the most useful thing.

We find ours don't play with lots of toys when camping - youngest takes a few things in her bag, we take a few travel games and some books and a few outside toys. Crafty stuff is the most used really. We have a small bag that si packed with stuff like paper (white and coloured, some colouring pens and pencils, glue, stickers and a few simple craft kits, paint by numbers etc.)

Having places planned ready to go if you all get a bit stir crazy is useful as well.

We worried about noise when we first started taking our little one who was waking very early. I tend to find feeding them keeps them quiet and still for a while in a morning, and that in general children pottering about is fine as long as parents are clearly making an effort to keep the noise down. For me its only when the kids are up at 5am shouting and the parents are not asking them to use their quiet voices that its annoying. If people are really bothered they can go to adult only sites, but in general as pp says, inconsiderate adults are far noisier! We have a portable DVD player for emergencies (£59 from sainsbury's) which we find is a godsend when its is very wet or cold or on long journeys to France etc but people have different personal views about this sort of thing.

I've 2 kids - 5 and nearly 9. I wish mine would stay in bed even close to 7am. That would be a luxury.
Fortunately going to France means that a 6am wake up call is 7am for the locals so its not quite so bad.
We have found that letting them come in with us to cuddle up and chat works well particularly in combination with jaffa cakes.
I don't think they need to be completely silent either. We can talk and read to them without it disturbing neighbours. If I try to keep them really really quiet that's when we run into fights and screaming.
The advantage with early risers is that we are usually one of the first in the shower in the morning.
As has been said I would rather camp near sensible people with kids than a group of drunken adults.

A nice cuddle and chatting quietly with the kids is a good way to keep them quiet.   Alice went through a stage of waking up about 4, and telling me that "the sun is shinning and the birds are singing so it must be morning".    Had to explain to her that the sun got up very early in the summer, and because of this the birds liked to sing  BUT it was still FAR too early for people to be up.    We used to doze until around 6ish, when we could get up and play quietly - colouring books are great.

Now that they are older she does sleep longer.    Pip has always been a good sleeper.

Ditto about the being woken by inconsiderate adults. id'd rather be woken by the noise of children enjoying themselves. However I am usually awake about 2 hours before anyone else. Our 3 yeard seems to sleep longer when camping due to all the running about.

It always rains on tents. Rainstorms will travel thousands of miles, against prevailing winds for the opportunity to rain on a tent.

We were away last week, and were up most morning at just after 7am because it was so hot in our tent!  I was creeping around until I realised that most people were up between 7 and 8am especially those with children.

I've always had problems getting my kids up in the morning!!!

This year only the 9am animal feeding would get them up.

I was shocked when i couldn't get my 10yr old up for love nor money! I was up at 8am doing the toilet break then being wide awake so no point getting back in bed, and she stayed put the whole 4 days until after 10am!!

When we used to camp/caravan she was up with the birds guess times change and i didn't realise lol

If no one has mentioned it yet Cotswold View is a lovely campsite for little kids. There is a lovely farm trail and easy paths etc. Our little one wouldn't keep away from the B..U..N..N...I..E..S.

Home Farm on Anglesey is a lovely child-friendly site. It's 'awake' pretty early - we go with 4-5 other families and have around 13-15 children with us! Never had any problems or complaints.

Supprise!! Supprise!!! Most of us are parents...and beleive it or not have been in exactly the same predicament as yourself re toddlers /babies waking early etc... I have no problem with babies crying(they usually do it for a reason..needing fed or whatever) and mum and dad are usually nearby to sort things out...so that kind of thing... bearing mind I had toddlers once... is bearable and can be lived with in my book...Its the so called responsibile adults who couldnt give a fig about their neighbours who need watching..The "stuff everyone else" brigade who need telling to quieten down...Like others I have appologised to and had apologies given by neighbours with kids...and that goes along way in my book to pouring oil on troubled waters....BTW I look on babies (especially in the toddler age group) as being like blank peices of paper...Just up on their feet and inquisitive about everything...soaking up every new experiance..boldly going where no toddler has gone before(as long as mum or dad is close by to sort out the nasty bits...17)Im sure your 3 will love the camping..each blade of grass..the wee bird just outside the tent..the sheep or cows in the next feild etc will be a new experiance for them and will need to be investigated...Goodness...even the walk to the showers in the jimjams will be an adventure...Go and enjoy yourself and try not to worry...Your post on here shows you are a responsible parent...and you should cope admirably on your trip...

Jelboy.
