Just returned from here (cut short our holiday) due to standard of the pitches - sodden! We were unable to get a hard standing and the grass pitch we used was already VERY wet when we set up on Saturday afternoon. Non stop rain on Sunday left us almost ankle deep in our awning (and the grassed areas in general) - which made it unuseable! To get to the roadway, we had to roll up trousers legs and use wellies or Crocs - other shoes/trainers would have been ruined. Our feet were permanently wet. After seeing the flood warning for today, we decided to cut our losses and leave. Wardens said they had been refunding people all week due to the poor drainage on the site. Obviously needs some investment by the Caravan Club. Also quite near to road - unusual for a CC site - and could be noisy for anyone pitched on that side. I suggest if you're booked in here in the next week or so, give the wardens a quick ring and check on the state of the site before you set out.

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!

Its a shame your stay was ruined by the weather. At least no problem getting a refund on a CC site. I suppose the answer would be more hardstandings but then there are those that object to those. I am not sure there were any when we were last there but that was about 14 years ago. Seems as though the Met Office is retracting its forecast of a BBQ Summer.

We stayed at Gowerton in September last year and had similar problems. It's a poorly designed site layout with the roads nowhere near the pitches in large parts of the site.

There is a very nice CC site at Pembrey and if I were to return to the area then I will go there. I'll never return to Gowerton.
