been looking to go to this site due to all the good reviews on here but just read one were the lady had been told off because her son had used his shoes as goal posts (makes the place look untidy) the curfew i dont have a problem with but seems a bit harsh. how have others found the site?

been a few times and it can get busy wouldnt take much notice concerning the curfew wasnt that scrictly enforced to be honest i wont be going again its to busy unless i could go in term time,just remembered my lad got told to stop wasting the water when he was washing his wellies.

We've been to Fisherground a good few times over the last few years and we have loved it, however on the couple of times we've been this year we're starting to fall out of love with it. The 'thing' it had that made it special seems to be getting squeezed out now in the name of progress. The site seems to be getting alot more regimented and controlled. It used to be a chilled and relaxed place which let people use their common sense and respect for others (and I know there are people who lack both of these but a quiet word used to sort this or so it seemed) but now it's 'don't pitch there' and new charges for large tents at peak times and I just feel its losing itself in the name of making money and 'looking good'. I liked it when it was fun and 'lived in'. We've had no instances of being told off for things and the curfew was adhered to and enforced when we were there and still love the fact you can have fires but I fear this will prob disappear at some point due to H &S or some other reason. Just such a shame really that its changing. We're on the lookout for somewhere new to try but think it will be hard to find somewhere that is like Fisherground used to be. I don't want to feel like I'm being controlled all the time, I want to feel free...is that not why we love camping??

try turner hall farm seathwaite beutiful location pub down the rd and never been that busy just dont tell any1 else its my favourite .

I liked fishground when we were there, having a fire is great - although the site does get very smokey as people light up. We visited in half term so the site was very busy with lots of children running about. Didn't bother us or any of our neighbours. Some really good pubs nearby, good food and wide selection of real ales.

If you do go, take an axe and know how to use it safely. The logs they sell on site a bit big for burning on an open fire and so should be split.
