Hi,

Our holiday is fast approaching but I have some queries. Despite ringing up way back in Jan and checking I am worried our tent wll be deemed to big. We have an idaho xl...measurements of tent are approx 7.5x6, but thats without guys. Website state pitches are 8x6.

Also we have family staying nearby who we had planned on coming over for a bbq one night, and I had thought they could stay in our tent for the night if too much alcohol was to be consumed17. Now I dont want to cause ructions, I know this isnt "allowed" but will it be an issue. Its only my parents, can't imagine they will offend anyone or keep them awake.

We haven't stayed at Holmsley, but have at other Forest Holidays sites and I don't think the size of your tent should be a problem.  As for guests, I think that will depend on the site staff - we were a Roundhill last year and my in laws were staying at Hollands Wood (another Forest Hols site) and when they visited for a BBQ for a couple of hours they were charged £5.00 each.  I didn't find out until after the event, but was told that it was company policy.  I wasn't too pleased as the site is open to anyone and many people simply walk in and use the facilities.
