Sounds like you might be hard pushed to find somewhere this late...however have you tried (not sure Im spelling this right!) Duffryn Seaside Estate?  Its North Wales but probably a little further down from where you are looking as its near to Barmouth.  It has EHU and from what I remember a kids play area and the nicest chip shop Ive yet to find.  Oh and it has onsite club/pub.

We wanted to try out a new tent a couple of years back and picked sunday on the bank holiday weekend in august of all times to do it and they still had spaces even then.

Also, the beach is only about a five/ten min walk away.

What about Forest of dean? just surfing on ebay and messing around put campsite into search ( thought there might be some for sale!!) it came up with two sites amongst the badges etc. one was a small ex cc site close to the forest of dean. £2 for the pitch for the first night and then £7 per night after that (EHU £2 extra) there was contact details - might be worth a try.  we stayed in the forest in June there was loads to do we really loved it. (we stayed on one of the Forest sites)
