After contacting The Quiet Site (which is admittedly at the opposite end of the country) and being told they are fully booked I decided to pick the next one on my "to visit" list.

This just so happened to be Hollands Wood in the New Forest - not a cheap site either! Averaging around £22 per night, I hope the taps are gold plated in the toilets!

Fingers crossed it should be ok, some good reviews on here. Makes me wonder whether to bother joining the Camping and Caravanning Club, would have saved me a few quid this time round and open up a few other sites for visiting.

Oh well, lesson learned - I'll book a few more weeks (or maybe months??) in advance at sites next year!

We are fairly new to camping, but bumping into seasoned campers on our breaks away this year they all said they were supprised at how hard it is to find a site and that they were having to book in advance.

Camping Mon-Fri sounds like a good plan! :)
