hello all, we have just returned from a week at little meadow, north devon, we found it to be our perfect kind of place, super view, site  not to big, no statics, nice toilets, showers, uncomercialised, and close to a couple of cove style beaches, the site has no clubhouse, but it does have a small childrens play area, and a small shop, local shops are close to hand, as are lots of other things to do.  this sort of place is not suited to everyone but it is just the sort of thing me , claire and our four kids are looking for, so i ask you all do you suggest anywhere in cornwall , (not newquay) that sounds like this, sorry if i'm asking for to much, but with a large family to please i have to get it right, and as i said to alphoso de lard, whom i met at little meadow last week (very nice man), you can only go on the reccomenation of other campers. so what do you guys think, thanks very much, gary and claire

Hi

Treveague farm is our favourite site, great facilites, childrens playarea, good sea views, we are a large family to, what we like about this site it that they charge per pitch not person which works out better for us.

Hope this helps

We've also been to Little Meadow and know exactly what you mean 17

Tregarton Park, just outside Mevagissey is my favourite site in Cornwall without doubt. Huge pitches, you can pick which one before you go, beautiful swimming pool heated to 80 degrees which the kids adore, enclosed playground, spotless, modern showers and toilets and apart from quiet thats it..........perfect.

Yes, Gwithian Farm is great, we went for May half term and it was full, but facilities are great, clean and plenty of them.  Nice small shop where my youngest son spent all his holiday money, good sized pitches (although just back from Fforest Fields where the pitches were 3 times the size!).  No play area, but a good central play field.  My boys spent a lot of time there, but I'm not sure I'd want to actually have a pitch facing on to this area as I hear that balls in tents were a regular occurrence!

Tollgate Farm at Perranporth is a nice little site.  No statics, close to Perranporth beach, nice showers, pets corner, little shop and takeaway service.  You can walk down through the sand dunes to the beach but it's steep on the way back!

It has some great reviews - see here:

Globe Vale, just outside Redruth is delightful and is so well kept.  Paul and Louise, the owners are so nice and helpful/ friendly.  The site has a small bar and does food - not at all 'club-like' - and excellent little site.

Presingoll Farm near St Agnes is great. Pam, the owner, is a fine example of multi-tasking in action. The area is fantastic as well.

If you want something near the beach, try Chy Carne.  It's on the Lizard and is just up the hill from Kennack Sands.  If it were me, I would still take the car down and pay the £4 charge - it's worth it to avoid the walk back up.
