Hi,

Wondered if anyone could help. Just got our 1st tent and are looking for somewhere in Yorkshire/Lancashire to go for few days just to get used to the whole thing. We will be taking 2  x 14yr olds and wondered if anyone new of any nice sites that were good for older children, they like fishing, messing in dingys,  getting filthy of course. I have looked at that many reviews on here that my minds just blown.

Any advice would be great

Have a look at "Cote Ghyll" at Osmotherley (near Northallerton in North Yorkshire)

Has a small stream running through the site for paddling in and is within easy walking distance of Cod Beck Reservoir and the Sheep Wash - a lovely site for picinics and splashing around and trying to dam the stream.

Decent chippy and a couple fo nice pubs in the village (again within easy walking distance of the site)

Northallerton is about 15 minutes drive away for decent shopping and a swimming pool/leisure centre.

thanks for that, looks good. As it will be our first time camping I was thinking of somewhere more local. But would like to try it further down the line.
