Please excuse me but I am a novice caravaner, do you have to be a Caravan club member to stop on all Caravan Club accredited sites? Do you have to have full yearly membership or shorter term? What is the cost and do all CC accredited sites only allow members on if this is the case? Thanks in anticipation for your help.

There are CC sites which are members only, and CC sites that take non members.

To be a member is about £37 per year, and worth it if you want to use their sites as a non member pays an extra fee of £7 per night to stay on any CC site that does take non members.

CC site prices for members will depend on season, location and facilities. On a full facilities site in peak season you would pay around £20 for 2 adults. this includes electricity. There are no extra charges, unless you get a serviced pitch, but these are not that common.

You can look at the sites and prices on their website www.caravanclub.co.uk

you have to pay an extra premium if you are not a member and to be honest I think if you have over 4 nights you may as well pay the yearly fee. An odd one in both clubs are members only so do check but most are both. C&CC sites mostly assept tents  and caravens and the lot. There are not many CC sites that accept tents but there are a few although you cant join the CC if you have a tent. Bost clubs have excellent facilities so for your first year if you want to gurantee good facilities till you go it alone then join one or both.

dogs and pup tents etc go free .

Acredited sites all have their own rules so you need to look at individual sites.

Have a look at how many sites you fancy using and work out if it's cost effective.  We used only 2 CC club sites this year, one for 3 nights and one for 2 nights but extra cost would have been £35 for non-members so it made sense to join.  Glad I did as there are other CC sites I intend to use.  I am also a member of the C&CC because I use a lot of their sites.

It is also worth noting that being a member allows you to use the CLs (Certificated Locations) which are small 5 van sites with facilities ranging from none to excellent. All sites have drinking water and waste/chemical toilet disposal. Prices range from £4 per night up to, maybe £15 in expensive areas, but average is probably £8-10.

These sites (about 2000 of them i think) are on farms, people's gardens, sports grounds, behind pubs etc.

These are listed in their own section in the handbook/website.

The actual "Club sites" are either owned or leased by the CC and run by their own wardens. Facilities on these are very uniform, though there are some sites without facilities too.

Then there are some sites that are owned by someone else but run by the CC, they provide the wardens. Facilities on these can vary.

The other category are "affiliated sites" which are privately owned and run but offer a reduced price to members, sometimes even a separate pitching area.

All these are listed under "club sites" in the book/on website.

Also in the handbook you will find some commercial sites. They pay to be listed and are nothing to do with the CC, not inspected or anything.

Iv just joined the C&CC club best £38 iv spent.
We have been trying to find a site around the Barmouth area for August bank holiday, tryed 16 sites and all are fully booked, had a look on the C&CC site and found a small site that had space, best of all only £12 a night for members and very close to a pub.

Realy good considering some sites around the same area are charging upto £30 a night.

Now thinking about joining the CC too.
