Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced, clean campsite near/around Whitby, with shower/washroom and toilets? Would be good if within walking distance to the bay/Abbey/centre? Thanks Dan.

There is a site called whitby holiday park that's along the road from the abbey, I'm not sure if it takes tents or not but it may be worth a look. It also has a great coastal walk into whitby too that brings you out at the abbey.

We haven't been to Whitby this year as we thought we would have a change, but have really missed it.  We usually stay at Middlewood Farm Campsite, it's just outside Whitby in walking distance of Robin Hoods Bay.

How about trying Folly Gardens? telephone  01947 601364  They are right in town very handy for Abbey, Church Street area but have no reviews yet.  i live locally and would go have a reccy to check out for you if I wasn't off on holiday. If I get the chance before Friday I'll try pop up and check it out.

Not sure if Broadings Farm good or not but they do seem to have been improving facilities of late I've noticed when passing. Busyness is most likely due to shortage of tent pitches near town.
