What Appleby site? Wild Rose?
Trying to think of somewhere that has flooded..........
just realised you must meant he main street in down from the Police station other side of the road over the bridge - where the river is almost at the same level as the road. The Flashings is it??. It's where the gypsies take their horses into the river at Fair time to wash them.
Yeah Wild Rose. The campsite is a little way from Appleby but that's where we would have spent our Saturday.
I get off nightshift tomorrow morning, so I'd be having just a few hours sleep, travelling there and setting up camp, then by the time we came home Sunday dinner time I'd be heading back to bed for nightshift Sunday night. We were just desperate to squeeze in a camping trip because we haven't had a chance to get away in the tent at all this year so wouldn't have minded a little rain but as it's more than likely going to be a lot of rain I really don't think it's worth us trekking across there.
Fingers crossed for the weekend starting 4th Sep anyway!
