Depends on where I'm going and when.
I try to give as much information as I can when I book - I have 3 children, large family tent, dog, require EHU etc.... then the site has a pretty good idea of my needs and can allocate a pitch accordingly.
Site websites usually give detials such as sloping pitches (nothing is ever going to be 100% flat) they have little control over the ground conditions but I guess you could request things like near toilets, play area etc... but this would probably only be a request and couldn't necessarily be guatanteed.
Some sites allow you to choose your pitch when you arrive or if they have allocated you one and it's not ideal you could always ask if there was another pitch available.
