I am due to go to the above site soon with the family so we can go cycling in Nene Park, we have never been before but I'm slightly concerned about the amount of bike thefts which there seem to be there as well will not have the awning with us.
Does anyone have any experiences of this site and think we will have a problem??

We've been there loads of times, have never heard about bikes being stolen from that site though. The only thing that I can suggest is that you make sure that your bikes are secured and out of sight if possible.
It's a lovely site, great park and as it sounds like you have children, they will love it. We haven't been for a few months and i'm anxious to get something booked so we can all go again.
you worry me with your comments freeatlast, why what's the problem with the site???
Thanks AliHo - the difficulty with having them out of sight is not having our awning, we thought about leaving them near the entrance of the caravan, rather than at the rear as if they were to be stolen they could take there time at the rear with no one to see them?

There last week no problems great place to bike nearly everyone had bikes with them. It can get a bit busy on the cycle routes near the main gate. But there are miles and miles of cycle routes (about 30+ I think). If you have time go on the Nene Valley Railway we did and it was great you get money off if you are on the site just take your receipt with you. In fact in all the times we have been to this site we have not had any problems.

Just know the area, not the site itself.

Lets put it this way, I have been in several hundred schools over the years, and almost always taught in inner city schools and that school was by far the most challenging. School was within walking distance of Ferry Meadows.
Ferry Meadows is the campsite we have been to most of the 28 years we have been caravanning including twice in the last couple of years. We have personally not experienced any problems, including bikes, although there is of course no guarantees which applies equally around the country. Don't be put off, its a lovely site.

Also as the site is allways full it cannot be too bad because if there was trouble people would not go back and we met people whot had been to the site two or three times this year. The site both side was full all the time we were there and also a rally onit as well.
As others have said, it is a lovely site. We've never experienced any problems the times weve been there. In fact, all this talking about the site, has made me look at booking a weekend in September, when the kids go back to School.
