for next year.

This year we booked two separate breaks, ended up having to canel one due to very wet site but then thoroughly enjoying our second.

In the past we have gone for two full weeks to one site, usually Trevornick,  and would like to revert to a two week holiday, but we're looking for inspiration for next year.

We are a family of four, kids will be 17 and 13 and we have a dog.  We love Trevornick, but that is the most 'holiday park' type campsite we would use.  We didn't use the clubs, just the pool and loved the dog walk.

So our priorities are:

Large, level pitches with EHU

Nice places to visit for days out in surrounding area

Fishing for hubby nearby, not necessarily on site

A good dog walk on site (love the freedom of Trevornicks) and nearby places for walks, preferably somewhere good for Bailey to swim too, beaches or streams, don't mind.

Swimming pool would be a real bonus, but would rather not have clubhouses in the 'holiday park' style.

Peace and quiet on tap 17

We really don't mind how far we travel if the site is worth it.  I've started searching on here, but there are just so many.  If I could compile a list and check sites and reviews that would be brilliant.

Sites we've visited and loved:

Trevornick, Deers Glade, Jasmine Park, so anything along those lines would be good.

Thank you!

Have you looked at Cote Ghyll (Osmotherley, near Northallerton)?
This is one of our favourite sites.
No actual dog walk on site but plenty of places to exercise pooch - there is a lovely walk up through the woods just out the gates of the site.

Large pitches with or without EHU
Very clean facilities - showers, toilets, bathroom, pot washing area.....
Small shop on site
Lots of good walks (near Cod Beck Reservoir and the Sheep Wash)
Nice pubs in Osmotherley (easy walking distance of site)
Close to Northallerton for shopping and leisure centre
Easy drive to the coast (Whitby, Scarborough, Filey)
Plenty of things to do and places to visit in surrounding areas
Stonebridge Fishing Lakes are close by

We visited on May Day bank holiday when site was full and everywhere was kept clean and tidy and all the other campers respected the No Noise rules which made for a very relaxing break.

Might be worth a look?

search for hobourne cotswolds site.  Has everything you've asked for, indoor and outdoor pools, it's in the middle of the cotswold water park so fishing and watersports a plenty. Ok, it has got a "holiday park style clubhouse" but you don't have to use it.  Plenty of interesting places to visit just down the road in the cotswolds aswell and for a park of this type it's quite reasonably priced.

If you would like to revert to a 2 week break, why not split it up and visit a couple of different sites. We often stop at 3 or 4 sites in a fortnight. I see you are in E Yorks, so why not come down the east side of the country. There are some wonderful sites in Lincs and, of course, Norfolk which is absolutely packed with places to go and see. Lovely beaches, less distance to travel and the big bnous, a lot less rain !!...Mick

Easy - check out the meets section of this website and take a look at Chy Carne for 2010. (it's on the Lizard in Cornwall) - see the link below.
Nex' year we have the run of the site. 12m square pitches, 20 min walk to the beach, fishing off any beach, / rock you care to mention, loads of dog walks (and walkers to accompany you if you like)
Get your name down soon though - its filling up already !!!!

with kids that age, and the dog, consider Merley Court which is part of the Shorefield group.

1. Large pitches EHU
2. Dorset, lots to do in Poole Bournemouth
3. Dogs allowed
4. Pool on site
5. If you dont like the pool or the pub then you can drive 7 miles to sister site and use the pool and bigger events Hall there
8. Suited younger and older kids

Bit pricey, but there you go
