Ok..... Just had a fabulous 5 days camping near Swanage. Beautiful camp site, stunning views, great walks, child friendly, peace and tranquility.......that is until the noisy neighbours starting blaring their music at full pelt from 9pm- 10:30pm. I wouldn't mind but it was 'Meatloaf'. I would give anything for...... abit of peace and quiet!!
Aside from the music they were quite an obnoxious family. Their ball games frequently landed on my car, swearing etc etc. I was camping with my 10 year old son. and so didn't feel 'safe' enough I suppose to start complaining to them. No staff were around (it's quite a relaxed camp site) and other campers either put up with it or possibly were not as disrupted by their noise/music as we were slightly off the main field. I had chosen to pitch here thinking we would have some extra privacy and less disturbance what it actually did was isolate us with the family from ....!
How do others diplomatically tackle noise issues and secondly is it unreasnable to ask fort music to be turned down before the curfew? There was a 10:30pm noise curfew which they did stick to (Meatloaf was turned down at this time) but for and hour and a half it drove us crazy.
Besides this, we enjoyed our 5 days ....and am looking forward to next year!
