Ok..... Just had a fabulous 5 days camping near Swanage. Beautiful camp site, stunning views, great walks, child friendly, peace and tranquility.......that is until the noisy neighbours starting blaring their music at full pelt from 9pm- 10:30pm. I wouldn't mind but it was 'Meatloaf'. I would give anything for...... abit of peace and quiet!!17

Aside from the music they were quite an obnoxious family. Their ball games frequently landed on my car, swearing etc etc. I was camping with my 10 year old son. and so didn't feel 'safe' enough I suppose to start complaining to them.  No staff were around (it's quite a relaxed camp site) and other campers either put up with it or possibly were not as disrupted by their noise/music as we were slightly off the main field. I had chosen to pitch here thinking we would have some extra privacy and less disturbance what it actually did was isolate us with the family from 17....!

How do others diplomatically tackle noise issues and secondly is it unreasnable to ask fort music to be turned down before the curfew? There was a 10:30pm noise curfew which they did stick to (Meatloaf was turned down at this time) but for and hour and a half it drove us crazy.

Besides this, we enjoyed our 5 days ....and am looking forward to next year!

Was that Burnbake?

It is very inconsiderate to do that at that time of night, making some noise before curfew ok, but loud Meatloaf........ not nice.

Well in order to avoid that the only thing you can really do is pick a site that is well run, either caravan club or C and CC for instance, or a small commercial site where the owners and or wardens are on site 24/7.

It isn't tolerated where we are, Holmans Wood in south Devon, they have a lovely camping meadow but no EHU so if you are game before the nights get much colder, give it a go.  They have EHU for caravans and campers.
