Has anyone been to Tredegar House CC site this year? Reviews on here are from last year and beyond, and don't read too well. Wondered if things have improved in 2009

the site at tredegar house is lovely it does have the motorway passing close by so you must expect some noise.the grounds and the house are also very nice for walking around, or if you have children riding bikes. newport however is not so lovely. the city is working hard to make it attractive for the up and coming golf (the ryder cup ) that is due at the celtic manor next year i think .
we do have a tourist information in the centre of newport .plus there are many places on your door step. cardiff has everything newport doesnt and is is not far just 10 mins by car yet parking can sometimes be a problem. if you dont want to drive you can get a bus or train. the beaches of the gower and porthcawl are a few miles away and make a nice day trip. there are many places of interest ie;- the wye valley, tintern abbey, the welsh folk museum, free and brilliant, the big pit museum ( this was a working mine untill not many years ago ) you can go down with a guide to see what the mines were like, also free. the brecon becons are stunning. if you have bikes you can cycle the canal on the celtic trail.
Ok for a weekend but no longer in my opinion. The site is well looked after and clean, but outside of the grounds of Tredegar House there is nothing really around within walking distance. There is a large Asda supermarket just down the road and a McDonalds. As nora says there are a number of things to do around a about but if you dont want to venture too far you could find yourselves a bit stuck if there for more than a weekend.
We stayed there for a week at May half term. The site is lovely - one of the nicest we've been to, as are the grounds of Tredegar House, which you can access at any time - great for children on bikes and scooters.
The House was really interesting and had a children's pirate day on when we went, which was great - and not expensive either.
We had some days out at nearby attractions, making it a lovely week. The motorway noise was barely noticeable, and dependent on the wind direction, but certainly not an issue for us at all.
I live in Newport too and to be honest the site is set in a glorious location and a tour of the Tredegar House is a must, Asda is literally next door 5 min walk , u are in close proximity to the motor way so perfect for getting to cardiff swansea cwmbran (for shopping) big pit, goytra wharf, cwmcarn forest drive , ebbw vale festival shopping, there is a lovely little museum in the centre of newport which tells you about the area . the town is undergoing some major work at the moment due to the ryder cup next year. But it is certainly an area i would write off just yet , Newport is not that bad ive have been to worse
The campsite is a caravan club site now it no longer belongs to the council so i would have thought caravan club standards would be in place.
hope u enjoy your time there is u get to visit

The only review for this year was for April 2009 and the rest were pre-October 2008, hence my question expressing my point of view.
Thanks to everyone else who took the time to give their feedback.
the site hasnt changed since my review, its still there and still the same . newport is having lots of improvements and cardiff is still very much worth a visit.
