Hi all,

I'm looking for a suitable tent campsite in North Wales (preferably around the Bala area) to accomodate a group of 12+ lads (all on our late 20's) for a stag doo.

We are planning an adventure/activites weekend such as white water rafting, coasteering etc etc so also any tips/advice on these activites in this area would be appreciated.

Many Thanks

think you'd be better off booking into a hostel or camping barn type thing. The chances of you finding a camp site that'll take a group of 12+ lads in their 20's are slim to say the least.

We did rafting here

JJJJ Rafting Its in Llangollen a little bit out of the Bala area.

The national rafting centre is closer to bala but they work on dam release system and if there is too much water in the valley they are not allowed to release water.

This caused our may bank holiday session to be cancelled and we re-arranged to JJ quickly.

We stayed here which might let you on if you are lucky

There's a camping barn on the way out of Llangollen, too.

Try Shell Island. My 26 year old son went a few weeks ago with a group of mates. Hope you have a great time.

Thanks for your responces so far...

I have phoned a few places now and generally they aren't interested in stag bookings...

The Camping Barn seems to be a good idea so i'm going to try and find some info on these at the moment.

Thanks again, Steve

Now I know this is not Wales, but just south of Bridgnoth in Shropshire there is a pub called the Halfway House Inn on the Cleobury Mortimer Road.  They have a camp site in the back garden, so to speak.  We have never stayed there but have used the pub for a meal when we have been passing through (decent food, good drink).  They also have 'chalet type' B & B.  I know they do 'activity breaks' and in the past have done stag weekends.  I can't vouch for the camp site itself, but it just sounds like the sort of thing that might interest you.  It does say on their website: 'Choose from Golf, fishing, cycling, Quad Biking, Clay Pigeon shooting with tuition, Canadian kayaks & train spotting on the Severn valley steam railway.'  If this is the sort of thing you are after have a look at their website.

There are details on here: http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=3836

Sorry it's not Wales, but it's the only thing i could think of.

Best of luck.
