Well said BorderCatz, having worked for both clubs I can honestly say that there are rude customers whichever club you choose. Sometimes you can pacify them sometimes not.
It is a great job to do and we know full well that when we are on site that even on our day off we are still on duty. People recognise us in the local pub, towns and attractions and will always want to chat. This is not a problem. We now work for the Caravan Club and we are very pleased to be doing so. The facilites provided for staff are excellent, I did not mind sharing toilet facilites with the rest of the campers as I knew they were clean...I cleaned them! When we were on late shifts however, in the height of the season we were still having to get up early to get a shower so that we were not late by waiting in queues, I do not now have to share a washing machine with another 200 pitches to try and get my uniform clean to wear as I am provided with one that I can use when I need to. My hubby and I do not have to get up at 7am to unloack a gate or wait until 11pm to lock it again. On a single couple site with the Caravan Club they are relieved for 4 days off a month, on a Camping and Caravanning Club site, once the managers are there they are there for the whole season and have to think about the logistics of trying to get out to the shops to get their weekly shopping etc. Son on the whole there are a great deal of differences between the 2 clubs. Which one you prefer is up to you, I certainly know which one I prefer working for!
