Hi Norah,
We are going on Tuesday. We actually were there as relief managers in 2002 but have visited since and had a guided tour of the chalets by the present HSMs just after they were finished. They are truly beautiful but very expensive. They are situated down by the lower lakes so don't really interfere with the main site It is a super site-- when dry.

thank you for your reply.

because we dont want to stay in the chalets, does this mean that the lower lake is now out of bounds to caravanners and campers. i used to like walking around there. and fishing at times.

Not really sure about that Norah. They are privately owned although I am not sure how many are sold yet. Perhaps I can let you know when we get there on Tuesday if my 3G dongle works

We love winchcombe but were very disappointed when they put the cabins in-i don't even think they've sold them all! We loved the bottom field as our son could fish there safely. It now feels a little cramped when its full, but we have used it since and still like it.

Stayed 3 times so far this year. Love the site but never visited before cabins built so can't compare to then.

As far as I'm aware fishing is now only in the main lake that you can get a pitch right next to if you are lucky. C&CC details on the cabins a little confusing as they refer to fishing in the small lake that the cabins are situated around but I don't think you can.

HTH.
