Further to earlier post, we went on main site in a chalet ( as we had done for previous 49 years) to check out toilets/ showers, a bit grim, basic, pity really cos if they bucked up their ideas ,could be a gold mine.
------------- Keep smiling, its later than you think !
Have you tried the local camp sites ? and then have a day ticket for Butlins? OR does that work out expensive ? Greenacres I was looking at is £15.50 per nigh per unit (upto 5 people!) which I thought was good!
Have been the last 2 year and toilets are basic portaloos. A plus for us though was that the touring site is right next to the all weather sport courts so the little one was constantly on here with his football. I just took the kids swimming and washed their hair in the showers there!
If i was you, id give it a major swerve, went last year and only stayed a couple of nights, its totally chav city, and every time i left the van i was worried that when i got back something would have been either broken or stolen, i just couldnt relax.
Try the Lakeside just a little further up the coast, you will love it there.
Stayed here for 3 nights at the end of September,£16 a night. We have been to sites with far worse shower blocks. The £16 was worth it for the funpool and the snooker alone.
We went off site at night as £2.95 a pint of carlsberg is not appealing. There are plenty of good family bars within walking distance, all in all we will definitely return at that time of year.
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
