going to grin low in a couple of weeks.
thought i would use the m6 south and exit at j19
pick up the a537
then last bit of the a54
caravan club book advises not to use the a54 as to steep and narrow.
what part is to narrow and steep, looks like i will only use the last couple of miles.
any views please

Hi Mat

We are going to grin low at half term for a week and I'm looking at the same route as you, I think the directions in the book refer to the A54 from Congleton, not a road I've used so I can't say, I have towed over the A537 before without any problem.

When are you going ?

i use the A54 all the time going to Buxton road's alright lot's of wagon's use it, grin low's OK watch out for head warden she's a right job's worth.

The A537 is the Cat & Fiddle road which has some sharpish bends and steepish bits to it. The A54 joins the A537 just before the descent towards Buxton. Driven sensibly it is quite passable with a caravan.

It is one of the motorcyclists favourite routes and many riders have come to grief so a 50 mph speed limit has now been imposed. Speeds are monitored both from the air and unmarked police cars.
