CC Southport, CC Tewkesbury Abbey, CC Park Coppice just outside fo Coniston which has a few shops several pubs and restaurants so not a large town. CC Coed Helen at Caernarvon, CC Baltic Wharfe in Bristol, CC Steamer Quay in Totness, CC Gibson Park at Melrose, CC The Grange at Durham ( it's a mile or mores walk ), CC Broadway, CC Moreton on the Marsh and there must be more but at the moment they are gone from memory.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013

caravan club site at warwick racecourse, only 6 minutes walk into the town and warwick castle. nice town with shops, loads of restaurants, bars etc plus of course the famous castle.
Cardiff Caravan Park (which also takes tents - don't know what kind of unit you have) is literally a 20 minute walk from the city centre, and there's a waterbus from the stadium to the excellent Bay area, full of bars and eateries etc
Curious about Rowntree Park in York. When Daughter was student there, we never had any trouble getting in, though I see it's a bit busier this year.
Some of these may have been mentioned ....
Any of the London Sites
Edinburgh CC site, though I'd recommend Linwater site and take the bus in.
Bristol, Baltic Wharf.
Melrose, Gibson Park.
Cirencester CC site
Warwick CC site.
There's a site in Keswick.
Portsmouth site at Eastney.
And, if you visit my end of the world, Aberdeenshire, there are good municipal sites all along the coast in or near towns.
