I love to camp but suffer from MS and I have to camp somewhere quiet where I can have a good nights sleep. I've found a great site on the edge of Keswick called Castlerigg Farm, they are very strict about silence after 10.30pm and I love it but now the nights are drawing in I'm looking for a site closer to home who can offer the silence rule. I live close to Manchester, can anyone recommend a nice quiet site with good facilities .

Welcome J Bell, have a look on the campsite search section for a site near to you and read through the reviews.

Hope you find what you are looking for.  17

hi J Bell

have a look at the C & C certified site at Caeryws, its called Whitegates, only takes 5 units, we went with tents and little ones, no noise on site in the evenings and very quiet during the day,
in fact i think we made the only noise trying to get the 18 month old grand-daughter to stop running down the field to the sheep, lol

Hi All

Chatting to a friend last week. He told me of a Campsite in Bath quite near to the Park & Ride, unfortunately I've forgotten the name of the site - can you help??

Hello Dick

I think this is the one you mean, Bath marina and caravan site.  This is close to the park and ride at Newbridge on the western side of the city.  I don't think they take tents only caravans and motorhomes

Many thanks Anne, that's the one but it sadly looks a tad on the dear side for us --

Please don't tell everybody about Ebury. Its as close to heaven as you can get. The best part is that there are no facilities, makes it very affordable and keeps a lot of people away. We were managers there for 5 years before we retired and we still can't stay away.

There is an alternative at Newton Mill, on the otherside of the river and much more on the outskirts of Bath although there is a regular bus service into town.  I haven't stayed at either so can't make a recommendation, but the details are here: http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=1638 I haven't checked the reviews on here, might be worth a look.

Sounds nice but hardly closer to Manchester than Keswick although Ebury is 75 miles away as well.

hi j bell. try THORNLEIGH PARK FARM at chester. only five vans and the price is right. about a tenner.

you are surrounded by big trees and can sit and watch the wild life. next door the locals keep their horses on the farm and you can sit and watch them jumping or running around the fields.

lovely river walks and only a couple of miless fromchester.

Great site. visit once and i will guarantee you go back.
