Hi everyone,

I have been busy researching campsites for us to take our new caravan to, we are new to caravaning as we have a tent at the moment, we are hoping to seal the deal on the new van within the next week or so. I am wanting to plan our next few outings.

We are looking for a nice forrest campsite, if anyone has been to oais whinfell in the lake district? We love it there, so looking for somewhere a bit like that. But we could take our caravan.

Would like this to be not too far away, on a good road route as we are new to caravanning/towing, Cumbria/Yorkshire/Nottingham area would be good, with hard standing would be great.

Ali & John

Hi,
could try Cote Ghyll at Osmotherley, not actually in the forest but right next to it. If you go there come in over the moors past the reservoir 'cos the road up to the site through the village can be a pig with a van, (steep, narrow and double parked).
