Hi all,

We are looking for a site to pitch our van over the winter from now to maybe March.
Would prefer a site in Lancs/Cheshire/South Lakes with at least toilets and showers and dog friendly.

Webby/Ratty - we have looked and phoned just about everyone listed in the camp site search engine that are listed as seasonal pitch avail. or open all year with no luck so far.

Need some help from members.

Anyone?

Have you tried the caravan club & camping & caravan club sites, some of those do short seasonal pitches throughout the winter.

Thanks but tried that.
They are all too far south of us and even those are shown on their website as having no availability.

Would Brighouse Bay in Southern Scotland be too far for you (near Dumfries)? Open all year, a lovely site and they do winter seasonal pitches.

Wild rose at appleby in cumbria. They do winter seasonal pitches. We looked there last year with the same idea. It might be a little bit too far up for you though. It looked quite nice. Pitch prices varied depending which part of the site you were on.

Thanks for your input folks.

Had a look at Wild Rose.
Nice site but would think a bit of a trek in bad weather in the middle of winter.

Would really like a site within 1 - 1/12 hours of Manchester. The nearer, the more often we would be able to use the van.
