Hi, we are newbies to the caravanning world and have been on a couple of local weekend stays to test out our caravan and we love it! We've just started to look at holidays for Summer 2010 and it's an absolute minefield!! We are a family of 4 with two children aged 4 and 6. We are looking to go somewhere around Scarborough where we could go for days out around and about but looking for a site with enough to keep us all amused if we want to stay at the site some days. We would really appreciate some feedback from you more experienced travellers!
Look forward to hopefully receiving some replies!

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
hi used crows nest farm next to flower of may park nice size club facilty with live bands instead of disco swimming pool friendly owners if you want more to your holiday next door to that site is blue dophin which is a haven site has everything for children but comes at a price lots to do around the area off up there in dec with oh we like it that much have fun ian /fay
I'd receommend West Ayton Caravan Club Site..... stayed here twice and it is one of my favorite sites. You do need to be a member of CC as it is members only but a toddlers play park and bigger play park...... a large field for ball games with assualt course.... loads of room for kids to play.

what are you looking for in your site? We have stayed at Flower of May a few years ago and the entertainment was very well suited to young children, has swimming pool etc. We have visited friends at the West Ayton CC site (very nice site) and we stayed at the CCC Scarborough site - there is a pub next door that had a popular carvery and it is walking distance to the seafront (about a 15 minute walk). There are loads of sites around Scarborough in the countryside - a favourite of a colleague is St Helens in the Park.
I am sure if you supply a must have list, you will get plenty of suggestions.
west ayton is a great site but may not be much on for your youngsters if the weathers poor , although there is a good playing field and table tennis available.
id say you may be better off at flower of may purely down to the stuff for kids to do...both cracking sites though.
West Ayton Caravan Club Site. We have visited this site twice. The kids love the playing field, table tennis and pool room. The site was very boggy when we got there but it soon dried out - something you need on an English site. You can use the park and ride to get into Scarborough, cheep enough for the family. We found lots to do around the area, as well as going onto the beach. Great family site.
