HI, you can search for sites using the Advanced Seach and Area searches from here and ytou can specify what you are after from Sites Open all Year, to Sites with Pubs, Sites that accept dogs etc

23

Most site listings will also have visitor reviews to give you an idea of what the site and local area is like

Cheers  Ratty

Hey Ratty,
thanks for the nod in the right direction. Still a newbie so every little helps. What i did find was that Blackberry woods in east susex is now open all year round, on the "to do" list so might give that one a go. Will keep all informed. Also found couple other woodland sites, guessing these may be a bit warmer than an exposed hillside.
        Anywho thanks again.

I can recommend this site. Open all year round but I would check with them re Christmas. Lovely site in beautiful surroundings, lakes and woodland. A little on the expensive side but you pays for what you gets.

Hey Bob,

Thanks very much for suggestion it looks great, will definatly put that in my brochure. Any one else got a suggestion? If you like woodland camping try Tangham Forest in Sufolk, very nice and not far from Woodford.
                      Cheers.

Just thought id update you all on a couple of sites I've got my eye on for a "winter wonderland" break.

1.Ashwood farm, and its neighbour Evergreen farm both west sussex.

2. St Margarets caravan and camping in Shottisham, North Sufolk.

3.Run Cottage, Sufolk.

We tried Rutland in summer, Very nice, but looking for something "special". Keep those suggestions coming folks!

No, it's not a bit crazy - it's a LOT crazy!!  17

I did my first adult camping trip (in a tent) back in early March of this year and it was 'effing freezing !! 17  ...and I consider myself pretty resistant to cold (years of playing rugby in January in Manchester!).

The wife got cold even in August, which is why we've had to upgrade to a caravan...

I found camping this year a little colder than usual at night. We seemed to get some very hot days (blink and you will have missed them) followed by colder than average nights. Not many nice warm nights this year for some reason.

This prompted me to go electric, mainly so I can have a heater on all night. The bonus is that I can extend my camping into the winter months providing the weather isn't too unreasonable.
