Hiya Folks!

Long time no speak!

Well.. Xmas is over and everything except one set of fairy lights is down and despite it only being December I am already looking forward to next year's hols!

So... I have only 2 weeks in which I can book our summer hols due to being at uni.

Looking for a week's hol either the week commencing Sat 26th June or Sat 3rd July.

Last year was our first camping (and only) camping holiday so far and we chose Trevornick in Cornwall for a week in mid June, and luckily it paid off, it was fantastic weather and the site was great etc.

Much as I love Cornwall, it's a long way and we want to try something new. Been to Devon (both North Devon and the Enlighs Riveria in 2007/08) so not wanting there either.

We were thinking maybe Wales somewhere or Somerset. Can anyone help?

These are our requirements-

Nice clean family site with decent hot showers/washing facilities.

A bar/pub on site would be good, as would a shop and playground for the kids.

Takeaway/restaurant/entertainment would be good if possible but not essential.

Nice level pitches with EHU a MUST!

We loved Trevornick and it was a quieter time of year than the times we can go in 2010 so it was a bit quiter but we would like something along those lines, we don't mind it it's busy just as long as it's clean and not out dated :)

Near to good beaches- walking distance would be GREAT but a short drive or bus ride doesn't bother us. I prefer the clean, quiter beaches. Anyone who has ever been to Holywell Bay near Trevornick will know the sort I like. Beautiful!

Anywhere in Wales or Somerset, although if you can tell us where is best for young kids (will be almost 4yrs old and a 1 year old at that time), tourist attraction wise etc that would be great :)

Hi, we have a seasonal pitch at Homefarm Holiday centre, williton. We love it there and thought it may be just what you are looking for by the sounds of it? Next to beach, bar onsite, small indoor pool, small shop and good kids play area in beer garden. Close to Minehead, good place for kids, Butlins if you fancy a day pass. Nice area to explore!

http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=3729

There aren't that many pitches and they get booked up quite early but might be woth you calling?

Good luck!

Well being a somerset lad I love it but it is not renowned for it's beaches.  You only have the north coast which is not the best in the country. No doubt some will disagree.

I would recommend the south coast which will take you into dorset and my preference for a beach would be Weymouth  round to Poole/ bournemouth. My real favourite part of the country is the Isle of Purbeck around Swanage.

Try googling site around this area or of course there will be some on this site.

Can't recommend a site as we look for different than you.

I echo Millermcm, head into Dorset for much better coastline and prettier villages etc.

North Somerset beaches are not very nice at all and IMHO neither is the area in general.  Each to their own though.
