Me and my friends are looking for a a campsite at which we could stay for about 5 days during the summer to celebrate the end of our GCSE exams. However i am finding it very difficult to find a campsite that will except a group of 6-8 16yr old girls. ideally we would like it to be within 2 miles of the beach. we live in Leicestershire and don't want to have to travel for too long, so i thought that Lincolnshire would be the best option. we are well behaved girls and don't want to cause any trouble just have an independent short brake.
please help we are getting desperate.

Sadly the stupid minority have spoilt things for the majority and a lot of sites just won't accept unaccompanied under 18s or single sex groups. We are 4 mature mums (all in our 30s and 40s) and we really struggled to find a site that would accept us for a long weekend break last summer. My son and his friends had the same idea as you (but in North Yorkshire area) and we haven't found a site that will accept them yet.
I am sure there will be sites that are happy to accept groups of young people but you will probably have to do a lot of searching and ringing around.
You could always just book seperatly then ask to be pitched together - do you need to tell them how old you all are? I've never been asked my age when booking a site

But what happens when they turn up and obviously LOOK too young and are turned away, then have nowhere to go?
Would it not be better to be honest to begin with?

What's dishonest about it - if you aren't asked your age then how is not telling it dishonest
Because the OP is 16, as are her mates, so if a site has a policy whereby they don't accept groups of under 18's, then in my view it would be dishonest to pretend that they ARE 18 or over.
I've been to Skegness water leisure park and they did have groups of youngsters in the camping field. They ask for a non-refundable deposit of about £20 per person and if you are loud etc they keep the money and chuck you off. To be honest it was quite noisy in that field most nights so I don't think they check. We were in the quieter area thankfully.
It's a BIG site and is a 10-15 easy walk to the beach and is also a 10 minute walk from Butlins and 10 min taxi ride from Pleasure Island, great for your age.
I would always tell them the truth when booking or you could be left stranded with nowhere to stay.

If a site stated in the terms that it didn't accept groups of under 18's then you wouldn't be trying to book onto that site in the first place!!
Also I did not say to pretent they were 18 nor did I tell them to lie about their ages.
