Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
there are quite a few within 10 miles of longleat but i cant recomend any of them as ive never been to them, i only live a few miles away from longleat.
people seem to like brokerswood, thats quite close
We've been to Brokerswood (see my site review) and can recommend it - it's got particularily good play areas.
We also visited the CC Longleat site (our friends were staying there) and it seemed pretty good but will be difficult to get into on a BH. We tried to get in at half-term last October and were told it was full. However, in the week before we went, they had a few cancellations, so we could have gone, if we hadn't already booked Brokerswood. So, if you want to risk it, you could wait until the week before...

Seven Acres at Frome, have been for the last tthree years, nice small site and well situated to visit Longleat,Glastonbury, Cheddar gorge etc.Cheers John.
We’ve stayed on it twice (two adults and three children (5,3 and 1) now and had excellent stays each time.
The CC site is as you would expect from CC.
The real plus is it being right next to the Longleat visitor attractions - walk back to van for lunch!
You also get to walk around part of the outside of the house and grounds (not gardens) when the rest of the visitors have left.
Don’t forget you’re Tesco Club Card points for great savings on entry tickets.
Did Stowford manor farm last year for our longleat base. No play area as such but kids spent most of time playing in river frome which runs next to the site or just playing with everyone else's kids in the middle of the big field. Reasonably priced but could be pot luck on bank holiday as it's pitch in your own space even on the electric field
