Help , im looking at staying in Porlock in my caravan with the wife and two kids. I have found two great sites. Burrowhayes Farm and Porlock Caravan and Camping . Can anyone advise wich one to choose . I have checked both sites reviews and i cannot split them . Thanks !

I have looked at both. If you want a very quiet spot more suited to adults I would go for the Porlock site. However, if you have children I would go for the Burrowhayes site. I guess the other main difference is that from Porlock site you can walk 2 mins into Porlock with a range of shops/facilities. The walk into Porlock from Burrowhayes would probably take 25-30 minutes. But would say that Burrowhayes site feels more rural which I much prefer. Hope this helps - overall Burrowhayes would be my choice. But I much prefer Cloud Farm to both of them which is close by - facilities not so great, but beautiful and very relaxed with opportunities for real fires.
Further to response from Tonym1966 about walking to Porlock - the walk is fairly quiet roads but you would have to walk along the roads. I think there is a footpath which you could talk for some of the way too
Walk from Burrowhayes to Porlock is on side road with no pavement and is down a steep hill, quite a climb on the way back!! Footpath goes out from the top of the site through woods to join the road down into Porlock, we used to see (with high powered torch) many deer in the wood and fields at night.
Leaving the site and walking south through the woods you come to the village of Horner which has a lovely (but busy) tea rooms
