I have all my sites booked for this year, 10 trips totaling 6 weeks away. I just like to get everything booked and ready. As I know Ill forget about it and end up leaving it to late to get in anywhere.
One advantage of early retirement is that I can be pretty flexible with holiday dates. So, I don't book more than a few days in advance, and if a place is booked up months in advance, I don't think I'd want to go there.
If I did want to go somewhere, I'd go to Braemar for Hogmanay. No entertainment on site, but it's only a few minutes walk to the village. However, I expect that the new year (as well as the Braemar highland gathering) is booked up early.

I'm tired of reality, so I'm off to look for a good fantasy.
