Found this hidden away in the news letter page "Our semi-hard standing all weather pitches on Cornfield proved such a success and so popular that we need more! Work has already begun on upgrading some of the pitches in Pondfield and more in Cornfield. These will become known as Super Plus and Premium Plus pitches."
Apart from that there is nothing on the website warning you that they have changed from grass to semi-hard standing! :(

Not been to Trevornick since teh Summer (Ha Ha) of 2007. These pitches must be a new addition. But Trevornick is a very busy site and the grass pitches used to get a hammering and aften resembled mud patches by late season.
These semi hard standing pitches are plastic grids that the grass can grow through, so watch your toes when bare foot.
I spoke to a campsite last year about a pitch that wasn't grass and found that for a tent you had to hire a sort of mat from the site to go under your tent.
Sorry, I can't remember the details, but I do rememeber the price for the "mat" to go under our Khyam Ontario 8 was too much for us.
Hi we went for a look around Trevornick on Friday afternoon (day before they opened) we were in the area visiting family, the pitches you refer to are covered in gravel & it looked quite deep, not sure what it would be like for a tent.

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Hmmm, They say they are fine for tent but I am getting concerned.
Any one else visiting soon or been on one of these pitches ?
I am currently working on the basis that if they are no good we will ask to move to a different pitch but when you have just driven 60 to 8 hours in the car it is the last thing I want to be stressing about.
Hi stayed at Trevornick last year, NEVER AGAIN!, they will tell you it's ok on the reception desk whether it is or not. Example our friends were looking at purchasing a large Sprayway Valley 8 tent but before they did they first checked with Trevornick that the pitches we had booked would accomodate such a large tent (we were booked in on Pond Field), oh yes no problems there it will be ok said the lady on the telephone, our friends proceeded to purchase the tent and on arrival, low and behold the pitch was no way near big enough, in fact the space was so tight on that particular field we felt it was rather dangerous. After many a cross word with the reception staff they eventually backed down and gave us both two larger pitches pitches next to each other on Blue Field.
