HAAAHAAAA! If that proves true I'll eat my midge hat!
The Northern Terriories of Alaska can fall below that figure for months on end, and the wildlife is still driven to distraction by the little blighters. I've seen cold winters before and still been bitten in April in the hills between snow patches, so I suspect the 'midge expert' may well be proved wrong. More's the bloomin' pity!
