Hi, having to make an awful choice at the moment. Caravan storage at the moment is £600 a year and I need to reduce this or sell the van. Used to have it on a site where I could use it at the weekend but it closed and I'm now paying top wack for indoor storage. Would like it to be stored anywhere between York and northwards preferably with access to a site so we could use it on a weekend - haven't been able to hliday for 2 years so I guess it has been expensive. Appreciate any help. Thanks

When I had a caravan a couple of years ago the average storage charge even on a good secure site was about £20 a month. You seem to be paying well over the odds.
Have you tried having a word with any local farmers? Most farms these days have space in barns and the farmers appreciate a bit of extra pocket money. I was lucky in that I live in a rural area and knew a good local farmer who let me store my caravan in a secure, dry barn which was locked at night. Still charged me £20 a month though
That was a cheap deal Bob, we were quoted £368 per year for outside storage on a local 'Secure by design site' and for that we would only have limited access during opening times of the local dealer site ajacent.

Perhaps prices have shot up then. £240 a year was the average only a couple of years ago. I was paying that and my neighbour who had his caravan stored elsewhere was paying that. I also recall some discussions on these boards about the price of storage and £20 a month was considered normal. Perhaps the high security storage places with security guards/cameras etc; cost more.

I pay £320 per year to keep mine on a Cassoa gold site which, compared to what many other people pay, I think is quite reasonable considering the high level of security. And it's split into two 6-monthly payments, which is a bit easier on the pocket. Sounds like you're paying well over the odds for yours.
