We are going to France the day after our wedding anniversary and would like to find a campsite within about an hours drive of the tunnel, but within walking distance of a nice restaurant, does anyone have any suggestions? We are CC members so a CL will be fine but would like EHU.

Consider Little Switzerland

Great views across the channel, and good on site cafe/restaurant. Let down by showers, otherwise very nice site.

Norwood Farm, Newchurch, New Romney, Kent. Walking distance (probably about a mile or two) to a couple of nice pubs which do food. There is a restaurant in Newchurch which we haven't been to (too pricey for us pennypinchers - but looked nice when we walked past it a year or two back). Might be worth phoning the campsite to ask for advice. Lovely small, quiet site, free use of fridge freezers - great for the wine and beer brought back from France! Nice toilet/shower block.

As you are in a motorhome would you use a pub stopover?

The Black Horse allows motorhoems to stay for free if you buy a meal. £10 if you don't and £2.50 for EHU.

They are 5 miles from the tunnel according to the motorhomefacts database.
