Hi, im new here and i am new to the whole caravanning scene.

There are so many caravan sites to choose from its over whelming.

Could anyone suggest a family site, we need electric hook-up, toilets/showers and a park for the kids would be nice. I want to get the kids away from computers so somewhere to explore too!

Hi and welcome to UKCS :)

My favorite site is Fforest Fields. No park for the kids but oooooodles of room for them to play so take plenty of ball games, bikes, scooters etc. some great forest walks on your doorstep, several small lakes which you can swim / take a boat out on.

The owners love kids & have very little in the way of 'rules and regulations' - making it the perfect family site. They just ask that you respect others - and it works well.

Only a few miles from Builth Wells for shopping etc.

If you go on their website & click 'information' and then ' about Fforest Fields' you can see lots of photos which will give you a good feel for the site. Lower down is a dedicated 'photos' section many of which have been submitted by visitors.

Can't wait to go back this year - roll on June!!!!

I second Fforest fields its beautiful, we took our g,son and he loved it. no computers, just pond dipping, and making dens etc, just like we did when we were young.

I was going to say Dolbryn too - beautiful site with a lovely play area & its own field for ball games, plus tracks and fields to explore.

Dolbryn gets my vote. We are off there for 10 days in the Summer. Went for 5 days last year and just not long enough. DS (then 5 and 3) loved the fishing experience...and caught fish which helps with the enthusiasm! Great animals to feed, Saturday activities for the kids and Dave and Bev are the most welcoming owners ever. Big thumbs up!

We went to Tynllwyn http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=4847

Lovely play area for kids.  Games room.  Very scenic.  Steam train station just outside campsite gates.  Lovely stream to go paddling in when the weathers hot - yes it will be hot this year!!!   Sea just a five minute drive away.
