  Have a look at Hendra Mynach site at Barmouth got all you need and you can cycle along the promanade and over the bridge and along the traffic free Mauwdach estuary bike trail.

We stayed at Warren Farm last summer.  Very handy for visiting Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole and, if you want to travel a bit further abroad, Longleat.    I thoroughly enjoyed staying there.  Great beach, very long and sandy, but the water is the colour and consistency of chocolate milkshake (all the silt coming down the Bristol Channel).  

We found the site well run and everyone was very helpful.  In addition, I think its every Tuesday and Thursday during the summer (they might do it for Easter too!) there was free archery and wall climbing on the playing fields. 

Would definitely recommend Warren Farm and yes, they do have a proper football pitch area with goalposts.
