Had a look at the Pately Bridge one called Riverside, mentioned by an earlier poster, whilst we were staying in Grassington this last week. Level site alongside the river Nidd with wonderful walks up the valley. The field next to it is a park which includes childrens swings etc. and then you are in the Town. Lovely restaurant alongside the river (opposite the town centre car park)
Ride up over the Moors towards Grassington and you can take the kids down Stump Cross Caverns so they can see stalagmites and tites. Travel the other way and they can explore Brimham Rocks (once the setting for a Doctor Who episode many years back.) Look eastwards from the rocks to Menwith Hill the US early warning station. Just a mass of hugh Golf Balls to stir the kids imagination.
Don't travel into Pateley Bridge with your van otherwise than via Ripley, Summerbridge (B6165 and onto the B6265). Travel in from Grassington and you come down a 1 in 6 with sharp bends!!!!! Only dodgy bit may be on the way out back up the hill out of town along the road I suggest. At the top of the hill, just as you leave town, there is a sharp right and if a bus comes around it it has to cross into your side of the road so you will have to wait and then do a hill start. This hill is about 1 in 10
