hiya everyone. just returned back to ukcampsite as ive had a bit of a break from camping. (boohoo, suffering bad withdrawal symptoms)

we didnt go last year due to 1) illness 2) the bad english weather 2) 2008 been the year of camping been "in fashion" and anyone taking up the activity.

my question really, to all you long standing serious campers like us, is camping still as popular and crazy as it was in 2008.

the last twice we went camping, in 2008, we were surrounded by folks who didnt care about the sites, environment, or other peoples property. and also booking at our fav sites was near on impossible due to large numbers taking up camping. it put my OH off wanting to return to our favourite pastime.

im having serious withdrawl syptoms and desperate to get my sleeping bags aired. we need a new tent too as i sold ours last season. but OH wont let me get go look if the sites are still going to be full.

I think the important thing is to do your research properly, read the reviews on here will give you a good idea of the type of campsite and how full the site seems when it's full. 

Also C&C club sites don't seem to attract certain campers perhaps because of the strict rules and cost.

Camping is probably more popular since 2008 but not a great deal of change in just two years.

Over 7 or 8 years or more there has been lots of change...campsites busier all year not just in the high season which means it's best to book to secure a pitch, everyone seems to be getting huge tents with everything including the kitchen sink and still demanding luxurious campsite facilities hence prices are spiralling higher and higher.

Apart from that camping is still cold, damp, uncomfortable, and addictive
