We recently came across a site where you can hire a static for the whole season for £2200. This seemed like quite a good deal to us as when you buy your own caravan the annaul fee can be almost as much as that. Does anyone know of other sites who are doing this? Seems like a great idea to us,.

I've never heard of any sites doing this,but i do think that it is a great idea.

It does sound a great idea and I am afraid that I do not now of any others.  I think a group were doing it last year, Park Holidays maybe

For that £2.2k, do you get unlimited usage, or is it restricted to say, 8 weekends per summer, and you can only chose weekends / weeks that are not already allocated?

What site is it and do you have a link to the details?

The one at Longmoor Wood states:

"We have a 4 berth static caravan available to rent from 1st April - 10th January at a cost of £2200, plus electric and gas at cost. The caravan has 1 double and 1 twin bedroom, gally kitchen, toilet and shower room along with a lounge/dining area. The caravan comes fully kitted out for imediate use."

No mention of rates or service charge.

The offer at Romney is for "free use" of a caravan for hte season to see if you like the site and that type of holiday, just pay site fees (£2400 - £2700) and service charges.
